Android LogoGoogle is pointing out competitors Microsoft and Apple, alleging that the two tech titans are attacking Google’s Android platform in a patent war. In a post on Google’s official blog, the search giant claims that their Android operating system – used in millions of cell phones – has prompted “a hostile, organized campaign against Android by Microsoft, Oracle, Apple and other companies, waged through bogus patents.”

Google claims the anti-Android crowd is using patents they scooped up from Novell to put the squeeze on Android, and that they’re working together in a strategy Google says is “anti-competitive.”

Google vows to fight back, and promises to increase the amount of patents they own. The company also says it is cheering on a Department of Justice inquiry into Microsoft and Apple’s patent policies. [Official Google Blog]
