Scott RasmussenPollster Scott Rasmussen is a favorite of Fox News Channel, a fact often linked to the curiously conservative-leaning responses his company regularly publishes. Now a poll by Rasmussen on the ongoing labor protest in Wisconsin is coming under scrutiny.

According to polling expert Nate Silver, who accurately predicted the outcome of the 2008 presidential election, Rasmussen’s poll is “arguably problematic.” While the survey found that 48% of those poll supported the union-busting policies of Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, at least two questions were found by Silver to be prejudicial and anti-union. One claimed that state public employees earned more than private employees – not true, while another made it appear as if police, firemen, and teachers could go on strike – generally untrue.

As such, Silver cited research that shows that leading questions with false information could skew the results and advised people to “disregard” the Rasmussen poll.
